Meals on Wheels
Details
For every DP3 application your agency submits on Wednesday, August 21st, Tower Hill will donate $50 to Meals on Wheels!
About Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America to address senior hunger and isolation. With the help of local volunteers, healthy meals are delivered to elderly individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals. For most participants in the Meals on Wheels program, it is often the only hot meal they have each day.
An added benefit to home meal deliveries is the companionship provided by the volunteer or employee who delivers the meal. As Marjorie Broughton, the program’s Executive Director in Sarasota recently shared, “We don’t only serve meals, we save lives, we deliver hope and we do that because of the volunteers take their time when they’re delivering meals to visit individuals, most of whom are alone in the world.”
