Finally, the Florida Legislature adjourned their annual session on May 8th. While the possibility of a recall from Governor Rick Scott exists, we have most likely seen the end of any insurance-related legislation for 2017. Unfortunately, the House and Senate were unable to work out their differences between competing Assignment of Benefits (AoB) bills, and neither bill made it into law. As a result, continued homeowners insurance premium increases are forecast for the near future unless there is resolution to this significant cost driver. Stay tuned….
